Submissions
Balloon submission consists of 2 forms which must be submitted. An initial form asks for coordinates, a balloon number, and an email address. The second form requires a code from the submission of the first form to unlock. It asks more open ended questions about the submission. It also asks for a phone number to get additional information. The submission time is given by the time of the initial submission if the secondary submission is completed within 2 hours. If the secondary submission is not completed within 2 hours of the initial submission the time of the submission will be the time of the first complete secondary submission.
We agree not to use your submission in any way other than for the purpose of submitting balloon locations to DARPA as part of the Red40k.com team, except to coordinate payment, or for other uses required by law. We may make your anonimized submission available on this site after the challenge.
Selection
If Red40k wins the DARPA network challenge, a process of elimination will occur on the set of all data recieved.
First all automated chaff submissions will be eliminated, and all submissions that were not completed will also be eliminated.
Then, using the coordinates that DARPA supplies as the winning coordinates, we will sort through the accumulated entries, and select the First completed balloon submission for each balloon that is within DARPA's accuracy circle. Our selection of the first balloons will be final.
Payment
If we win, after selection we will then pay (up to) 10 of these selected submittors $3000 upon our payment by DARPA. If fewer than 10 balloons were submitted to win, only the winning balloon submitors will be paid. In the unlikely event of a reduced payout by DARPA, the payout to selected submittors will be reduced as well.
If we are unable to contact the first submittor immediately, we will continue to try for 60 days, after which we will continue to attempt to contact someone else in line untill we are able to contact a valid submittor. If none are found, we will keep that payment.
Disclaimers
We may, at our option, close the submission process for a balloon at any time.
By entering a coordinate you agree to hold harmless all persons ascociated with Red40k.com for any losses or errors ascociated with their operation or your use of this site.
